3rd Grade Art-Silhouettes

 3rd Grade students learned about color theory of warm and cool colors. After learning about this aspect of color theory, the students learned about silhouettes and looked at the artwork of famous contemporary artist Kara Walker(Check out the highlighted link). We took photos of the students in profile and cut them out to paint the backside. The silhouettes in black on a pure cool or warm background made the finished product striking!
